Tara and Alyssa have been best friends for 10 WHOLE YEARS! They met as random roommates in college and became fast friends. Tara and Alyssa have been through a lot together; 4 different shitty apartments, college algebra, drunken nights followed by low quality nachos, rewatching Harry Potter upwards of 100 times, and many boxes of twinkle lights from Walmart. Tara and Alyssa have a party trick of slowly morphing into each other anytime they spend more than 6 minutes together. A note to the wise: take cover when this happens. Alyssa and Alyssa became friends for obvious reasons- they both have a great name. Alyssa was instantly jealous of Alyssa Perry when she introduced herself as Aly because that was a nickname Alyssa had been trying to make happen for herself for years. After the jealousy subsided and the two got to know each other, it was clear why they couldn’t get anything done: this was the person they had been sharing a brain cell with their entire life. These two connect like they’ve known each other forever, and apologies in advance if you're expecting them to be on time to anything. Their timeliness is worse when they’re together.Thank you for helping my get my groove back.

Fun fact: Kayla HATED Alyssa when they first met in their bachelor’s program. But much like the medical condition both these girls have been impacted by, Alyssa grew on Kayla like a cyst. Kayla is one of the most genuine and honest people Alyssa has ever met, like when she told Alyssa that “her hair is just a little dry” after she asked for her honest opinion. You make me laugh without trying and I will love you forever for that.

Jamie is the calm to Alyssa’s chaos and for some reason she still loves Alyssa. Anytime Alyssa feels like a balloon released into the sky, Jamie is the tree she’s grateful to have her string get caught in so she doesn’t die in outer space. While Jamie balances Alyssa’s frazzle, Alyssa brings adventure into Jamie’s routine. It’s actually shocking how similar these two are while being so different. You’ve helped root me and root for me and that has meant more than you know.

Loie and Alyssa met through Justin back in 2020. Alyssa was instantly drawn to Loie: she was SO FUNNY, kind, and didn’t know a stranger. Alyssa and Loie got to know each other and bonded over running, RuPaul’s Drag Race, a love for swimming pools, dancing, and Samantha from American Girl. Loie came into Alyssa’s life when having fun and being silly didn’t came as easily to her (quarantine sucked for everyone). In a way, Loie was the permission Alyssa felt like she needed to enjoy small things again even when life sucked. You make my spark brighter no matter where you are.

Allison and Alyssa met in a stressful work environment, so they have the added connection shared work nightmares. In the beginning, Alyssa was blown away by how calm, cool, and collected Allison was. She was steady when the boat rocked while also being so eager to learn everything she could. Plus, she had a wicked sense of humor and was always down to do something fun. Alyssa admired how welcoming and generous Allison was, and how naturally they could go from talking about serious topics to Secret Lives of Mormon Wives without missing a beat. I am forever grateful that you are on my wavelength.

Oh boy. It’s a miracle that these two haven’t been arrested for all of the wackadoo situations they would find themselves in. Alyssa’s favorite thing about Ashlyn is that they are both the same kind of unhinged. There’s no explaining that’s ever needed, but there are times of talking the other one down from an impulsive decision. Ashlyn came into Alyssa’s life back in 2018 and the universe got scared. They bonded over trash TV from 2009 and My 600 lb Life, and knew that this is the friend who gets it. While they may not be at risk for imprisonment anymore, their friendship is the same to the core: a little whacky, deep, and consistent. Thank you for always seeing me and loving me for it.
